Last competition of the year
Last tournament of the year – a tough one
08-perch or 08-abborren as it is called in Swedish was the last Kayak fishing competition of the year. A bunch of excited anglers took part in this competition that was hosted by the Swedish sportfishing association. It took place on october 26th, and as you might know, it can be quite dark outside this time of year. With an early start, participants really needed their headlamps on.
5 perch above 25 cm
The goal of the day was to catch 5 perch above 25 cm. I only caught 2 legal perch of 30 and 32 centimeters, but managed to catch a lot of pike and perch of about 22-24 cm. Hopefully I can do better next time!
The competition turned in to a battle of two anglers, Lars Lundberg and Simon Knutsson. Simon managed to win with 171 cm against Lars with 162 cm.
This competetion was actually Simon´s first ever competition. So a big round of applause for him! Congratulations!
As the competition took place in the middle of Stockholm the fishing can sometimes be quite tricky but at last the city offered a pretty cool setting for fishing.
