Top Lures for Perch
Some of my favourite techniques when fishing perch from a kayak are:
1. Jig or traditional bottom bouncing with a soft plastic like for example Shadteez from Westin is a great allround option for perch.
2. Dropshot is great when you now where the fish are hiding to fish static on them. I especially prefer dropshot when fishing in a bit deeper water. One of my favourites are Fin-s fish.
3. Jerkbait are great for targeting bigger perch. It works great both when fish are active and when fishing is slow. I like Shadow rap by Rapala.
4. NED-rig is a great way to fish when the fishing is really slow. Use looooong pauses and the perch will take your bait from the bottom. I really like ned baits from Z-man like the Finesse Trd.
The most important part when choosing a bait or style of fishing for perch is to adapt your technique to time of year, weather, water temperature and your sorroundings in general. No bait works in every situation, but you can almost always find a bait that works in the situation you are in.
