First Session of 2025
Our first kayak fishing session of 2025 became a reality on the 19th of January when we managed to scout an ice free area on lake Mälaren. Me, Tobbe and Lars went out on the water for season premiere. Tobbe was kind enough to borrow me his Hobie Lynx which was a pretty awesome kayak.
With 4 degrees in the air and 1.5 in the water we knew the fishing would not be easy. We started fishing deep around schools of baitfish and Tobbe caught the first perch of the day.
After a while Lars found more frequent bites shallow at around 2.5 to 3.meters depth and that was the trick of the day. Fish were biting from time to time and the biggest fish of the day were probably around 35 cm. All in all a great start of the season and we are definitely hungry for more fishing and bigger fish.
